TONI CAMPAGNONI, M.A.

Toni has been a psychologist for over 30 years and has always made it her goal to offer compassionate and quality services to all of her clients.  Toni provides assessment services for children, teens, and adults, to enhance the understanding of that individual’s need.  The assessment reports may offer a diagnosis and always ways to support the personal growth of that client.  In the area of psychological therapy, Toni sees children and teens with a variety of challenges.  She has developed expertise in working with anxious children and teens.  Consultation services are available for parents, colleagues, and workplace settings for stress debriefing.

Toni, along with colleague Shannon Hartlen, provides Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment in school aged children.  Our colleague, Rhonda Wolkins, PhD, offers ASD assessments to adults.

Toni has been pursuing ongoing training in SMART therapy, which is specialized treatment for complex training.

SHANNON HARTLEN, M.A.

Shannon Hartlen, MA is a Registered Psychologist, who brings 25 years of experience providing psychological services to children, youth, families and professionals in the educational context. Her work is strongly influenced by trauma-informed practices, neurobiology of behaviour and positive psychology through collaborative and integrative approaches. Services include child, youth and adult psycho-educational assessment, child and youth neurodevelopmental assessment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and child and youth assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorder. She offers therapy services for children, youth and families, as well as parent and professional consultation in support of children and youth. As a psychologist and trained mindfulness teacher, she has provided professional development opportunities to numerous community and provincial agencies and received the provincial 2015 Psychologists in Schools Association Award for her contribution to School Psychology in Nova Scotia. Shannon aims to support clients with a caring, practical, and down-to-earth approach to growth and well-being.

JAMES MATTHEW TRITES, M.Sc.

Prior to becoming a Psychologist (Candidate Register) in 2012, Jim spent many years working in the corporate world. This experience, as well as his years as an entrepreneur/ business owner, allows Jim to bring a wide variety of life experience to the counseling room. He helps those with issues, such as anxiety, depression, sadness, grief, trauma, as well as other concerns that cause people distress. Jim works with men and women and has additional training in the area of counseling adolescent and adult males.  He also helps couples overcome barriers, using his training and experience in mediation and dispute resolution.  Jim’s goal is to offer his clients a safe, trusting, and non-judgmental space in which to emote and tell their stories.   He works to give clients the attention and validation that they all deserve; things that many have difficulty finding in their day-to-day lives.  Using evidence-based therapy techniques, Jim encourages his clients to examine their deeper inner beliefs, and strengths to help them discover their full human potential. For his clients, results can be personal growth and empowerment, improved emotional and physical health, and better relationships.

RHONDA WOLKINS, Ph.D.

Dr. Rhonda Wolkins is a Clinical Psychologist and has worked in the field of psychology since 2011. Rhonda walks along side her clients in the journey of self-discovery and psychological growth. She applies a collaborative and theoretically integrative approach that is customized to meet the needs of the client.

Rhonda holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology, as well as a Certificate of Concentration in Neuropsychology, from Fielding Graduate University. She provides psychological treatment and assessment services to children, youth, and adults. She has experience with the assessment and treatment of a wide range of psychological conditions, including learning disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, autism spectrum disorder, psychopathology, and much more.

KAREN SEAMONE, BEd, MEd (Counselling) MEd (Leadership), NME™ Trainer

With an extensive background in Education, Karen has over 25 years experience working with students, staff and families in schools. As a behavior consultant, past school administrator, counsellor and educator, her focus remains on supporting families through client centered, solution focussed sessions with an emphasis on human development and life experience.

Karen has built her portfolio of study and practice on her interest in student success, learning and stressors relating to basic neuroscience and self regulation. Exploring early adverse experiences relating to current function is of particular interest. She is the only Neurosequential Model for Education (NME™) Trainer in eastern Canada and is currently fulfilling the requirements for the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT™). This ‘neuroscience informed, developmentally sensitive approach to clinical problem solving’ is her model of choice. Karen aims to create more optimal environments for her clients by honing in on the development of self regulation and social emotional skills. Families and caregivers are essential participants in this process of creating a therapeutic web of informed co-regulators at home and school. 

Karen loves to teach. She offers flexible training and professional development options for a variety of settings and participants including work teams, caregivers and community organizations. Her trauma-informed sessions through the lens of the Neurosequential Model help develop an understanding of the impact of stress on our ability to be our best selves in support of others. SHARON MALONE

Sharon worked in the legal field as a Legal Assistant and Bookkeeper in Nova Scotia and Alberta for nearly 35 years. Upon her return from Alberta, she worked for the Department of Community Services until 2021, when she joined Campagnoni~Hartlen & Associates as the Office Manager. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her sweet Yorkie, Bentley.
